1. NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE & TRANSFORMERS (8 hrs. CODE)
This refresher course focuses on transformer basics. You will use the National Electrical Code to reference and help cover topics such as sizing of both primary and secondary overcurrent protective devies, sizing of conductor raceways, and grounding.
2. AC THEORY REFRESHER COURSE (8 hrs. Industry)
This AC theory refresher course covers topics regarding resistive, inductive, and capcitive AC circuits both in seriese and parallel.
3. NFPA 70E – Electrical Safety in the Workplace (8 hrs. Industry)
This course introduces NFPA 70E and provides an understanding of the safety components of the Standard. 70E awareness enables electrical workers to recognize hazards, ask questions, and take the necessary steps to ensure workplace safety.
4. Energy Storage Systems (4 hrs. Code)
This course overviews the applicable Energy Storage System (ESS) Codes adopted in Montana (for 2020 and 2021). Specific training is provided for ESS requirements in the 2018 International Fire and Residential Codes and 2017 National Electrical Code.
5. Point to Point – Solar PV Basics (8 hrs. Code)
"Point to Point" Solar PV Basics is a course which focuses on the electrical installation and compliance of PV systems. The instruction is based on NEC 2017 and is intended for electricians and electrical inspectors.
6. NEC Disconnect Means (Includes Energy Storage Systems) (4 hrs. Code)
NEC Disconnects overviews NEC disconnect and overcurrent protection requirements - with an emphasis on Energy Storage Systems (ESS). It includes practical supplementary videos and PDFs.
7. Intro to Grounding Online (4 hours Code)
Introduction to Grounding Online is a four-hour online course focusing on electrical system grounding and bonding. The 2020 National Electrical Code (NEC) standards for grounding and bonding are integrated into the curriculum. The class includes Code definitions and tables, labs, Powerpoint slides, and instructor discussions. Solar PV grounding and bonding are included.
Bob Warren and Mitch Hegman are the co-instructors. Students receive 4 hours of State of Montana CE Credits (Code) upon successful completion.
8. Codeology Online (4 hours Code)
Codeology Online is a four-hour course focusing on the history, organization, language, and chapters of the National Electrical Code (NEC). It offers students the framework to better access and understand the standards and language of the NEC and their application to the electrician craft.
