The JATC works with contractors throughout the State of Montana to provide on the job training. We provide a minimum of 8000 hours of on the job training as well as five years of extensive classroom training, which will prepare you to take the Journeyman exam.

You will receive competitive wages as well as pension plans and a full-family medical plan, which means all your dependents are covered with no extra money out of your pocket. All provided for you through your employment as an apprentice electrician.

The NECA-IBEW partnership has established one of the best working environments and benefit plans available for the electrical construction trades in the USA today. We are the largest apprenticeship sponsor in Montana and your valued commitment to this partnership will ensure you have a place in receiving the hard earned rewards found through completing the Montana union electrician apprenticeship program.

Our program provides you the opportunity to earn wages and benefits while you learn the skills needed for a trade that’s both challenging and rewarding. You will have the chance to use your mind, as well as your physical skills, to complete work in a variety of settings with the constant opportunity to learn  something new and advance through the ranks.

As you advance through our program, we’ll help provide you training in all aspects of the entire electrical industry so you can possess traits to be a highly skilled journeyman.

We provide excellent class room and working experiences including, commercial, residential & industrial. The education and work experience gained through our registered apprentice program will make you the best  Journeyman electrician possible.

We have a state of the art training facility, with three full-time instructors. Hands on labs, instructor led lectures, and one on one instruction to ensure your success.

Hours of experience Description
No electrical experience Select this option if you have no electrical experience. It's perfectly acceptable to have no experience, because you have to start somewhere!
1-1,999 hours of documented experience

Select this option if you have between 1-1,999 hours specifically in the electrical construction trade.
You're probably in your first year of apprenticeship.

2,000-3,999 hours of documented experience Select this option if you have between 2,000-3,999 hours specifically in the electrical construction trade.
You're probably between your first year and the end of the second year of apprenticeship.
4,000+ hours of documented experience Select this option if you have more than 4,000 hours specifically in the electrical construction trade.
You're more than half-way through your apprenticeship!
